Apple have updated their flagship DAW Logic Pro X to version 10.3.2. The new version features some extra Drummers who play Latin, Pop and an extra player suitable for singer-songwriters. Drummer allows users to create a more natural rhythm track with auto-fills, variations in volume and general ‘realism’ added in. Extra loops have also been added to fit the styles of the new Drummers.
Elsewhere, Apple have added the ability to pitch and fine-tune individual audio regions – a long-awaited and very welcome addition. Ableton users will be very familiar with how easy it is to transpose clips, so anyone who uses both will be glad to see this feature added to Logic. Their latest instrument acquisition Alchemy has also had a re-vamp, adding an automatic time align feature for improved morphing.

As with all of Logic Pro X's updates, there is a nice mix of new features, bug fixes, and workflow enhancements in the new Logic Pro X 10.3.2 update.
Logic Pro X 10.3.2 - The Big Changes
The big flagship feature this time around is the addition of three new Percussionists to the generative Drummer instrument. Unlike the original Drummers who use the Drum Machine Designer software instrument, and the electronic Drummers who use the Drum Machine Designer interface, Isabela, Quincy, and Finn use good old fashioned EXS 24 instruments. The good news here, reading between the lines, is that it seems like the EXS 24 is not going away anytime soon. We all know it is long overdue for a much-needed facelift. But the fact that they are developing new features built around it bodes well for its future. Accompanying the new Percussionists is a redesign of the Drummer workspace. Percussionists. Styles and characters are now chosen in the Library. Pattern info is set in the drummer editor. It's a well thought out change. Make kit piece changes, switch to producer kits, and audition different drum kits directly from the Library icon now rather than burrowing through the Library's hierarchal menus.
A nice addition to the ease of using Drummer is the user defined preference to have a + button appear on Drummer tracks in the Tracks Area to quickly add new Drummer regions. The newly generated regions will follow either already existing tweaks to other Drummer presets on the track or arrangement markers. Barring the existence of either of these, default preset patterns will be generated. Another well thought out detail is the addition of the Drummer and kit name in the Track Header. It's very convenient to see quickly which Drummer and drum kit is in use when the Library is closed and only the Drummer Editor is open.
Accompanying the Drummer update is the addition of new Yellow Drummer based Apple Loops. They are easily accessed from a separate filter category in the newly redesigned Loop Browser. They can be dragged to Drummer tracks, audio tracks, software instrument tracks, or an empty space in the Tracks Area.
One significant under the hood enhancement in this update is accelerated graphics redraws utilizing something called layer based views that incorporates a technique called OverDraw. The result is immediately noticeable. Resizing windows (Main Window or editors) results in fluid smooth movement rather than the stepped motion we have had with LPX until now. It is also noticeable when zooming or editing in projects with large numbers of flex markers and crossfades
The Small Changes are The Big Changes
Audio Region transpose. It makes life so much easier! It is implemented seamlessly into the Region Inspector. Transpose in whole tones within an astounding range of +/- 36 semitones. Great for creating either simple harmonies or bizarre sound design effects. And the fine tuning function is a nice touch - great for subtle (or not so subtle) chorusing effects on doubled parts. Try combining it with the Sample Delay plug-in for even more differentiation.
The next step involves installing Summoners War for PC app on your Bluestack emulator. Microsoft spider solitaire for mac.

And I love the newly added ability to adjust individual step lengths in the Arpeggiator. Such a simple enhancement, but one that adds so much variety to what can often be static sounding patterns. Particularly with slower step rates. There's more time for the varying step lengths to have more of a dramatic effect.
The new Dual Mono mode introduced in Logic Pro X 10.3.0 was a fantastic new feature. The initial absence of the ability to link the controls for either left/right or mid/side is now corrected with the addition of a new 'couple' button.
Possibly the biggest new 'small change' is the preference to reserve specific ranges of busses for auto assignment. This opens up a world of control for power users who want to set up advance bus assignments for complex projects. Now, newly generated instruments, or imported tracks or tracks stacks, will leave those alone. I know many composers who will find this addition worth the price of the entire app!

A couple of nice time savers that I personally find really useful are the ability to use the Capture as Recording key command to capture Smart Control movements, and the addition of the 'Don't Ask Again' in alerts which ask to import tempo information or markers when importing audio files or loops. I also like that meta events are now displayed properly in the Event List’s Length/Info column, and that we can now remove fades with a key command.
