Many after-market (non-Motorola) RIBs use different connectors on the RIB-to-computer cable or provide a standard 9-pin to 9-pin cable. The RIB and its cables, or a functionally equivalent, purpose-built, circuit is a necessary component of the Motorola radio programming environment. Some kind of interface between the radio and the PC is necessary.

Ive recently been asked by my company to take over programming radios. They have all the software and a collection of cables. I am a little new to this, so i may take some hand holding.
All the cables and software we have has little notes letting me know what CPS goes with each radio, and what cable goes to what.
Im having trouble programming a Radius Cm200 radio. I am using the cable that I use to program PM400 radios, and I am using Commercial Series CPS, but I keep getting a Error 514 when trying to read the radio. The software is version 5.18. The software worked when programming the PM400, which went very well.
Can anyone offer any suggestions ? I have a lot of the Cm200s that Id like to put to use.
